It's Time For A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 55 Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Renewed Focus Energy

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

Why I smudge with herbs … relax with #TheZenZing

Welcome back to #TheZenZing, where I help you put the

zing back into your life.

This time I’m going to tell you why I smudge using sacred herbs to cleanse my living space.

#TheZenZing smudging sacred herbs positive ions cleansing purifying energy energising health wellbeing zen
Although I regularly cleanse my living space with reiki symbols, when I’ve got a little more time, I like to use sacred herbs to smudge.  This is because of the science behind it.  Yes, really there is a science… The smoke produced from burning the herbs traps positive ions in the air.  These positive ions cleanse the air (and the person) of the negative and harmful charged particles that accumulate.  It is these positive ions that bring the electromagnetic field into harmony and balance.  And we could all do with some harmony and balance…
~
Of course, these ‘negative’ particles have to go somewhere – which is why you should always open windows when smudging.  Otherwise you can end up with a head ache from those negative ions because they will have no where to go and just ‘hang’ in the air, making the ritual really rather pointless.
 ~
When I smudge, I make sure I have an Abalone Shell to catch the ash and some sand in the bottom to rest it in after the ritual.  I never put it out under running water…!
~
How about you – have you ever used smudging sticks  to cleanse?  If not, what do you use?

The benefits of aloe vera … relax with #TheZenZing

Welcome back to #TheZenZing, where I help you put the

zing back into your life.

This time I’m going to talk about how I did this with the help of aloe vera.

#TheZenZing aloe vera energy energising natural plant rejuvinate products benefits health wellbeing
~
You know how you might have to go to a shop (or several) to get a multitude of things to keep you ticking you over and make you feel better?
That was me once upon a time.  Not so any longer because I’ve experienced the benefits of aloe vera for myself and have seen the benefits in my family too.  Thanks to lovely folk like my friend Zoe’s Forever Living business, getting your hands on aloe products is easy peasy…
The benefits are amazing.
  • Take, for example, the shot of aloe I had daily when I found out I was pregnant with our little girl…  It was a complicated pregnancy and our little girl was born at 37+1 weeks, just one day shy of being classed ‘premature’.  While I’m not claiming that aloe is necessarily a miracle worker, I’m absolutely convinced that my drinking aloe every single day throughout my pregnancy made me and therefore our growing baby girl stronger and healthier…
  • Take another shot of the cranberry aloe that we all continue to have daily and the physical strength and visible health that our little (getting-bigger-by-the-day) girl has…
  • Add the fluoride free toothpaste that we use as a family, safe in the knowledge that what we are ingesting is aloe, not harmful fluoride…
  • Pucker up for the aloe lips that I feel lost without.  This is no ordinary lip balm and my lips feel genuinely softer than anything I’ve ever used before.  I don’t do lippy as a rule but aloe lips, I do…
  • Using a dollop of aloe gelly worked wonders on my c-section scar ~ soothing it and helping it to fade.  And our cats have the glossiest coats in the neighbourhood, thanks for the dab on their paws once a week.  Their natural instinct is to lick it off!  Genius…
  • Another handbag essential for me is the pleasant smelling, non-sticky hand sanitiser gel.  Always handy…
~
The great thing about aloe is that it can benefit anyone of any age, including pets.
~
Do you use aloe?  Which are your favourite products?
Which ones have you found to benefit yourself?
I’d love to hear from you by way of comment (below) or tweet me @AllSortsHere and use the #TheZenZing hashtag.
Thank you 🙂

Crystals for healing layouts … relax with #TheZenZing

As I delve deeper into my Crystal Healing Practitioner’s Course, I become more intrigued with crystal layouts (or grids, as they are also known).
To that end, I have scoured my The Essential Crystal Handbook to learn more about the benefits of each crystal featured, noted which ones I feel will benefit me and decided which crystals I need, along with the quantities, in order to use the healing layouts effectively.
#TheZenZing Zen Zing crystals crystal healing layout grids relax energy positivity realign rebalance
~
I already own a small collection of crystals which I use on a daily basis.  My next step is to expand my collection to enable me to use the following crystal layouts. While you’re reading this, you may want to cross-refer to this link about chakras because many of these layouts work directly with the relevant chakras:
  • To encourage new ideas ~ place fluorite below the sacral chakra and on the throat chakra
  • To aid inventive solutions to problems ~ hold meteorite (not strictly a ‘layout’ but a healing use of a crystal nonetheless!)
  • To be uplifted ~ place: Citrine at the root chakra and solar plexus; aventurine at heart chakra; blue lace agate at throat chakra; danburite at brow (third eye chakra)
  • For detoxing ~ place calcopyrite at the brow for new ideas; place calcopyrite at solar plexus to increase enjoyment of life
  • To help stop recurring worries ~ place kyanite at the brow and on each wrist pulse (or next to hands); smoky quartz at the feet
  • To encourage restfulness ~ sleep with blue lace agate near to your bed
  • To aid peace and contentment ~ place a blue stone at your throat chakra; larimar at heart chakra and 2 clear quartz either side (with points facing out); citrine at solar plexus; smoky quartz between legs
  • To help achieve your goals ~ place epidote at the centre of your forehead and in each hand
  • To release negativity ~ place 7 tumbled labradorite… around your body to include around your head, by each foot, each side of your body; fluorite at the base of your throat
~
I’m very much looking forward to using the above layouts with some reiki and I hope to report back in #TheZenZing post in a couple of months (if not before!) 🙂

The benefits of morning yoga… relax with #TheZenZing

#TheZenZing relax yoga breathing revitalise energise morning routine zen

Hello and welcome to another #TheZenZing where this month I’m looking at the benefits of a morning yoga session.

In #TheZenZing I share how you can put the energy back into your life!

{Last month we looked at reiki and there was a giveaway of a distance reiki healing session (look out for another one very soon!) Would you be interested in receiving distance reiki?  Let me know by tweeting @AllSortsHere.}

Back to this month…. I’ve talked before about how I took inspiration from Vicki Psarias over at HonestMum by doing a morning yoga routine.  It’s 1 of 5 great ways to control anxiety and a month or two later and I can definitely feel the benefit…

#TheZenZing relax yoga breathing revitalise energise morning routine zen TnS Accessories mat

Not only is my morning yoga helping me to right the writing but rising 30 minutes earlier is also energising me.  Yes, really!  (Putting my phone alarm on the other side of the room also helps!..)

I grab my comfy, soft TnS yoga mat, roll it out and start my stretches by following this routine.  Accompanied by my conscious breathing, I really do feel the stretches working and next, I plan to ‘stretch’ to getting a yoga block to help with my yoga.

After my short routine, I feel revitalised and slurp on my hot lemon water (which brews while I’m doing my yoga!), in between doing the pack-ups for the day.

That 30 minutes to myself makes me feel organised, revitalised and sets me up for the day 🙂 …before I get the hubby and our little girl up for brekkie!

What do you do to revitalise yourself for the day?  And don’t say have a coffee! 😉

 It’s #TheZenZing…

I invite you to share your blog posts on anything ‘positive, happy and full of zing’  by linking up each month to #TheZenZing linky.  It will be open from 0600 GMT on the 1st of each month for 2 weeks.   I’ll share each post across my social media and in my monthly newsletter. In the following month’s #TheZenZing post, I will share my favourite post from the previous month’s linky.

So get involved!  Spread #TheZenZing positive vibe 🙂
