Time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy blog linky #53 ~ because life’s for the good stuff

It's Time For A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 53 Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Hair

Your weekly dose of happiness…

Let’s spread the happiness!

It’s a common phrase isn’t it?…

“Bad things come in 3’s”

or words similar to that!

So, let’s flip it because everyone deserves a little happiness … (you know how I love to spread happiness and turn a negative into a positive with positive thinking !)

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… well, why not?!)

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so in the linky below?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic in the linky below?

Review ~ Hair Accessory Store Selection

Hair Accessories Shop Review Hairgrips

Hair accessories… what little girl doesn’t love them?

We were sent a selection of hair grips and headbands from the Hair Accessory Store and our 7 year old was very excited!  She has been growing her fringe out for a while now and is thrilled that she can tuck it behind her ears stylishly without it falling back.

Girl’s Got Style

I say ‘stylishly’ because she really ‘knows’ her own style and whenever we buy her new clothes, she comes with us to the shop or looks online.  Otherwise, there’s really no point because it’ll just go back to the shop for a refund.  Hubby and I both believe that it’s an important part of her growing up, empowering her – to be able to express herself, and not dictate to her what she can and can’t wear  – we never have done (school uniform is an exception to this, obviously – though you can also get decent uniform designs now!)

And Hair’s The Thing

The Hair Accessory Shop has got a really good range of hair clips, head bands and the like.  Not only are they well-made but they’re also comfortable to wear (so I’m told – there are have been no complaints about headbands pinching behind the ears or hair grips and butterfly clamps getting caught in hair when being removed.
I was really impressed with the hair grips in fact; they’re made of a foam-like material and none of the hair gets caught in the join like can happen in metal ones.

Predictably, our daughter absolutely loved the colourful butterfly clamps which appear to be made of a slightly flexibly rubber material.  Ideal for little hands styling their hair because they don’t dig into the fingers when you’re putting them in.
And of course there’s the over-sized headband which is fun to wear.

Starting from £1.49 from the selection we were sent, I’d say these accessories are excellent value for money, given that hair things inevitably end up in the same places as odd-socks in our house – they won’t cost a fortune to replace!

You can shop their range of products here.

And you can follow the Hair Accessory Store on social media:

Visit their website and follow them on instagram, facebook, and twitter.

Adam and the Ants!

Got you reading… ha!  Or maybe it didn’t…!

Prince charming… prince charming… ridicule is nothing to be scared of.  Or the song goes something like that anyway!  It’s Friday night, I’m shattered as usual and on a bit of a random one 🙂
We never go out, got not money… it’s not a whinge.  I’m very lucky, extremely lucky.  I’ve got alot to be very grateful for.  And I am grateful.  So when I found out the Cinderella will go to the charity ball, I was so excited!!  Babysitter sorted (thanks Mum!).  My prince charming is my hubby.  Hair was booked anyway, for the week before the ball (just in case).  Just got to find a dress now.
This brings me onto a challenge laid down by a good friend.  Last night she laid down the guantlet for ideas for a charity challenge and anyone who might want to join her.  Due to the distance and lack of fitness (on my part anyway), I suggested letting our eyebrows grow.  I might have to duck out of this one now though.  Don’t want to Cinderella going to the ball with bushy eyebrows!!
Read my book ‘Diary of a Complicated Pregnancy’. 50% of sales go to the charity APEC.  Spread the word.

So a change is needed…

The last few times I’ve had my hair cut, I’ve used Groupon. And Groupon = bargain!

Ive got 25% off my next appointment and have hopefully got a ball to go to in November 🙂 Soooo it’s time for a colour and change. Now my roots are beyond roots! They have been in desperate need of some TLC for a good few months. So desperate that my hair is ALMOST looking tretone two-tone-esque. But not quite :s

I thought it bestgot get some professional advice… When I was pregnant 3 years ago (!), my skin reacted by blistering after a patch test. This is apparently because of changes during pregnancy.

About a year ago, I left a job which was restrictive on your hair coloulength length (to a degree). So when I left I was a bit of a rebel and had it dyed…permanently. Hmmm lesson learnt! Then I couldn’t afford to maintain the colour…until Groupon came along with an offer. Stupidly (again!) I had it bleached to strip the dark and went ashblonde. It came out blonde blonde though! Which was nice but only if I could afford to maintain it! The point is… I’m having my hair done and need to be able to maintain it, tie it back when I can’t be a&£@d or haven’t got the time, and make it look good when I have the time or inclination. Straighteners were my best friend but I just don’t have the time nowadays. Some fringes suit me but one half of my Fringe is wavy/curly and one half is straight!

Do you see my problem??

Oh and my hair is very fine so looks lank quickly? Now that I’ve typed this post, I’m not sure what I’m expecting anyone to say about it lol? It’s good therapy, even of I am no closer to finding my perfect hair style/colour!
