Time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy blog linky #39 ~ because life’s for the good stuff

It's time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy 39 blog linky because life's for the good stuff. We Look Back On The Week With Gratitude

Your weekly dose of happiness…

Let’s spread the happiness!

It’s a common phrase isn’t it?…

“Bad things come in 3’s”

or words similar to that!

So, let’s flip it because everyone deserves a little happiness … (you know how I love to spread happiness and turn a negative into a positive with positive thinking !)

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… well, why not?!)

It's time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy 39 blog linky because life's for the good stuff. We Look Back On The Week With Gratitude

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so in the linky below?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic in the linky below?

If you’re on twitter, why not tweet your happy with #HighlightsofHappy ?

If you’re all 3, why not do all 3??  The linky is below. (To link your insta happy snap, simply click on your insta pic, copy the url and paste into the linky tool!)

…so what’s been making ME happy?

Last week my word was ‘hols’ and I’m carrying on that theme this week 🙂 …

Lazy days ~ whiling away the time, mooching around, in each other’s company but in our own space.  Just pure bliss!
Catching up with friends at an easter egg hunt.  So nice to see our girls pick up where they left off a couple of months ago.

and this…

Time to read my book every single day!

Our new garden gnome, Mr Wotziname!  He puts a smile on my face everytime I see him!

~ MEET MR WOTZINAME ~ After deciding that a corner of the garden needed brightening up, this cheeky looking little fellow found his way into the car! Mr Wotziname: loves gardens (but not so keen on gardening!), loves stripes, sunshine, sunglasses, and swimming! Dislikes being left on the shelf in the seasonal section of @georgeatasda . So now we’re just waiting for the sunshine to come back… and a Mrs Wotziname! 🌞☁ . #HighlightsofHappy #MyHappyCapture #LifeCloseUp #TheMagicinEveryday #MakeMeSmile #Happy #HappinessEverywhere #CapturingtheDay #CaptureMyPositive #MyDarlingMemory #livingfearlesslyauthentic #happylittlebuttons #gnomeneedsahome #outdoors #gnomesneedhomes #cheerfulchappy #outdoorliving #needaMrsWotziname

So that’s my happy and my happy word is ‘lazy’ for obvious reasons!  I’ll have to get back to reality very soon but for now, I’m savouring every second 🙂

How about you?  I’d love to hear about your ‘happy’ in the comments below or tweet me @AllSortsHere using #HighlightsofHappy

Go on, share your happy with me!

Thanks 🙂

…so what’s been making ME happy?

As I type this, our daughter is chilling out after breakfast.  She’s had a busy (but fun-filled) week and this is the start of our Easter hols together.  I’m so ready to down-tools and virtually switch off for a week!  I’m grateful that I recognise when I need to switch off and can take the opportunity too as well.  This week I’ve seen something on social media about working mums not switching off from their smartphones (but the necessary side of using it).  I’m guilty as charged (if guilty is the right word) and there’s a place for that in my life but there’s also a place to step back and enjoy the moments that make life so simple and special 🙂

Our daughter has seen her childminders again this week (2 lovely ladies who work together).  She’s been going to them since she was 9 months old when I returned to work after my mat leave.  I didn’t want to return to work but they work so well together, they just gel and we’ve never had any issues with them.  To say that she adores them (and they her too, I believe!), is not only so reassuring but lovely to see and hear about (she tells us who misbehaves! – out of the children, not the lovely ladies!).  For us, our childminders have been the perfect solution from day 1 and our girl is always drawing them pictures, giving them nick-nacks and has decided to name 2 kittens (when/if we get them!) after them too! Love her!

and this…

For the simple things in life like line-dried washing.

For doughnuts.  The really scrummy ones with sprinkles!  Perfect with a decaf 🙂

For learning more about kinesiology and the meridian lines.

So that’s my happy and my happy word is ‘hols’ because I’m so ready, we’re so ready to unplug (mostly!) and kick back!  See you on the other side 🙂

One good reason for the lousy British Summer !…

As I write this where I am in the UK, it’s Summer and the clouds are, well, cloudy.  But not just cloudy, they are storm cloudy!  And I may have had a hand in this!

Why?

why blame me for lousy british summer pic3 rain thunderstorms thunder suncream allergy allergic reaction sunsense cloudy drizzle summer holidays weather

I got prepared and stocked up on sun cream for our little girl.  Not from a special offer on the High Street.  Nope, from an online store.  Amazon to be precise.

Because our little girl is allergic to ‘regular’ sun cream.  I wanted to be prepared.

Oops!!

Rewind 2 years ago – our little girl’s skin started to come out in small raised bumps, very similar to heat rash.  The bumps were itchy and disappeared within a day or 2 of the last application of sun cream.

Last year was the same.  So we went back to our trusted brand of sun cream.

And then this year, we had a weekend of glorious sunshine.  I suddenly realised we had just about enough Sunsense sun cream for a day’s application!

So I ordered a couple more bottles on Amazon Prime to keep us going.

A couple of days in the week that followed were still glorious sunshine.  But since then we’ve had scattered showers – some of them thundery…

Sorry about that!

Have you been prepared, only for it to backfire?  Does your little one have a skin allergy, particularly with sun cream.  I’d love to know!  Please comment below or tweet me @AllSortsHere

Brace yourself…

2 weeks off work on annual leave and it’s back to reality!  I’m actually looking forward to getting some daily structure back.  We will have to get used to clock-watching again in the morning but it’s not long until the holidays in August…!

It’s been an interesting 2nd week… we decided  it was ‘now or never’ to go for the toilet training!  After a first day of mishaps, we’ve only had a handful of mishaps in the last few days.  Our little-big bear is asking for a wee and is using the loo instead of the potty.  Happy days and long may it continue.  She’s still holding her number 2’s but that’s a hurdle we will soon overcome…
