Time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy blog linky #57 ~ because life’s for the good stuff

It's Time For A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 57 Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Tidy Declutter Running

Your weekly dose of happiness…

Let’s spread the happiness!

It’s a common phrase isn’t it?…

“Bad things come in 3’s”

or words similar to that!

So, let’s flip it because everyone deserves a little happiness … (you know how I love to spread happiness and turn a negative into a positive with positive thinking !)

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… well, why not?!)

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so in the linky below?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic in the linky below?

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… I mean, why not?!)

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and you my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic here?

If you’re on twitter, why not tweet your happy?

…so what’s been making ME happy?

Getting our daughter’s bedroom sorted out.  By that I mean de-cluttered, cleaned and re-arranged.  She was due to ‘help’ but had a sickness bug so I did while she had snuggles with daddy.  To be fair, it was probably easier that way.  Her room now looks much bigger (and tidier- for now!) with the furniture rearranged!

Sorting out an airbed for her friend coming round in a few weeks for the first sleepover at ours!

…and…

A looong lie-in (albeit due to a poorly daughter who slept until gone 10… so we lounged around until then too!)

~

So that’s my happy and my happy word is ‘de-cluttered’ because our daughter’s room looks and feels so much better for it.

How about you?  I’d love to hear about your ‘happy’ in the comments below or tweet me @AllSortsHere using #HighlightsofHappy

Go on, share your happy with me!

Thanks 🙂

How do you encourage your child to tidy up?

Image

Do you use praise alone or reward charts?

Do you tidy with them or ask them to do it while you put the shopping away/do tea/sort washing?

In our case, we say to our pre-schooler, “what do you get when you help to tidy up and put away?”

Her little face lights up and she says, “a penny in my purse!”

And off she goes.  She tidies and puts away 3 things – because she’s 3 – and gets her penny.

If she tidies downstairs and her bedroom at the end of the day, she gets 2 pennies in her purse.  Which, for the record, is the pink Disney

Princess purse you see in the picture.  Gotta be pink!  She’s also got a Peppa Pig purse which she uses for playing shops but her Princess

purse is where the money’s at…

To ask her to tidy everything up is, we think, unreasonable.  So she tidies her age in toys and understands that if she does this, she knows

where to find them.  At the weekend, she gets to choose what she buys with her ‘pocket’ money.

We have to make up the difference of course… but any change we get goes into a pot that her pennies come from.

To ask her to tidy more than 3 things would take too long and she’s often tired after a busy day.

She’s already told us that she would like to buy a magazine at the weekend.

So, how do you encourage your little one to tidy and put away?
