I wonder if she might be reading ‘The Enchanted Wood’ by Enid Blyton, as I did way back when. Looking at her eyes, I would say that she appears to be avidly reading and seems to be a good way into her book. I love this picture for many reasons. One being that I would like to think her book is opening up another world to her. I have fond memories of working my way through ‘The Enchanted Wood’ seemingly in one Sunday afternoon. Maybe I didn’t finish it that quickly but that is what my childhood memory is telling me. I do know that I was encouraged to read though; as we have encouraged our little girl to. She now shares a love of books and looks forward to her bedtime story after her bath while snuggled up in bed. Perhaps this little girl looks forward to that too? What do you think?
