A Virtual Dilemma ~ poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

A Virtual Dilemma

I’ve been contemplating something

For a teeny little while,

Should I run 2 blogs or put 2 in 1?

Am I happy with my style?

The reason for the separate blogs

Was to keep something for ‘me’,

I’m a wife, a mum, a writer,

I’m a busy little bee…

When I blog about my family life

I can be a Mummy Bear,

When I blog all things writing and beyond

I’m in my ‘me’ time lair…

This way, the lines are not blurred

with 2 blogs on the go,

2 identities, 2 readerships

2 of everything to get to know…

Truth be told I feel some pressure

To try to be a ‘lifestyle’ blog queen,

To include what others have on theirs,

Can’t I be me and go in between?

I think I know the answer

But I would love to hear,

Should I stay in neutral/automatic

Or go up or down a gear?

Would it be considered ‘up’

To go 2 in 1?

Or be better and/or easier

To stay 1 and 1?

For 1 add 1 makes 2, it’s true,

I’m divided, can you see?

Back to square 1, what’s the answer here?

What’s the best all around for me?

Can you write ‘on the hop’?

what im writing blog linky writing on the hop process

Do you need complete space, peace and quiet when you write?  Or can you write ‘on the hop’?

Me?  I find I do a bit of both.  I manage to have bite-size bits of conversations (usually with others but sometimes with myself!) while I’m jotting my notes and, so long as I edit, it seems to work okay.  This is probably because the foundations are there in the first place.

It’s the same when I’m brainstorming and an idea naturally develops into something bigger.  You know, like when you write a whole piece in one sitting and you hadn’t intended to?

I find that I can still multi-task.  In actual fact, I much prefer to multi-task because I find it helps the creative process.  It seems to spur me on, helps me to mull things over and gets me to the finished piece.

So, to go back to the question at the beginning, how about you? Do you need complete space, peace and quiet when you write?  Or can you write on the hop?

“Miraculous” ~ My Fantastic Friday Fiction Offering…

Friday Fiction writing blog miraculous

So here’s the thing.  I needed inspiration for my ‘fantastic friday fiction’ offering.

And here it is:

It was, quite simply, miraculous!  They had counted down to this moment from the second they had dared to announce to the world their happy news.

As every new parent does, both had held their breath while the Sonographer moved the dopplar over Louise’s tummy, which was yet to visibly swell.  Still staring at the screen in total awe of the slightly blurred image that had appeared, the Sonographer’s words were rather distant, echoey even.

Frank was suddenly aware of Louise squeezing his hand so much that the circulation would surely be cut off.  “So this is how it’ll feel during labour!” he mused to himself…

“Frank can you believe it?!” came Louise’s voice shrilling through his thoughts.

“Frankie, we’re having twins!!” came Louise’s ecstatic voice again.

“We’ll have it in stereo…” were Frank’s first thoughts.

Different Destinations

Everyone’s thinking something different

Everyone’s got a tale to tell

A stop-off to meet a friend

A break from shopping

A chance to get out of your 4 walls

A common ground where people go

To take a breather

To take 5

To have some headspace

To have some company; ‘talking’ or ‘anonymous’

Welcome to the cafe…

“Excited but scared” ~ My Fantastic Friday Fiction Offering…

Friday Fiction blog excited scared

So here’s the thing.  I needed inspiration for my ‘fantastic friday fiction’ offering.

And here it is:

It was nearing the end of the all important 1st stage.  They were beyond excited to be able to talk about it very soon.  Excited but nervous.  Excited but scared.  Mainly excited though.

They felt it was something they had to do together.  It wasn’t right that some should find out before others, they thought.

Was it silly that they considered this to be one of the most important decisions of their lives?  Well, one way or another, they had waited long enough for this moment.

So, the obvious way to announce it ‘officially’ was to both press ‘enter’ together and post up a pink and blue bib on their facebook statuses.  Then their social media statuses would post the symbol for everyone to see.  After too many miscarriages that were not public knowledge, the couple had announced their delightful news!

Inspired by the quote “Every status has its symbol.” ~ Advertising slogan.

Because social media statuses seem to be where it’s at…

The Bonfire Night Party Alibi

prompt blog smoke bonfire night party alibi
The haze of bonfire night smoke lingered long after the final sparkler had died out and gone cold on the ground.  The smell of the smoke lingered longer.  Anyone wanting an alibi that night could comfortably say they had been to the bonfire party. All they had to do was show their face and claim they had been there all night.  No one would be any the wiser amid the crowd of faces milling about.
Or would they?
The murderer was something of a rookie.  They had wanted a quick death; the less blood and gore the better.  Even better if there were no blood-curdling screams.  Although the fireworks would drown that out, they would have to time it well.  In light of that, a ‘clean’ method had been chosen.   The glass of mulled wine that had been laced with poison had been thoroughly enj

oyed by the clueless victim.  And it hadn’t taken long to work either.  Our murderer hadn’t reckoned on it being sofast-working.

Now all that remained was for the murderer to dispose of the victim on the burning bonfire.  The embers would be glowing long into the night and the following day.
But would the smoke screen last that long?

Prisoners ~ poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

prisoners blog linky poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

How often I’ve spent time with you

Is really quite shocking;

How often you’ve kept me company

Is really quite reassuring

When I’ve needed answers

You’ve always been there;

When I’ve needed a friend

You’ve always been here

But not everyone trusts you,

It’s a sad fact but it’s true;

But what about me?

I admit at times I haven’t, too

Yet here I am with you

Right here, right now;

Yet again I am sucked in

You have a knack, somehow

You are the one that’s entangled

Many lives in their wake;

You are the World Wide Web,

Oh, how many prisoners you take!…
