“A Spot of Sunshine” ~ poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

“A Spot of Sunshine…!”

Inspired after experiencing a family bereavement, my poem is all about coming back to life after the grief and rollercoaster of emotions… in keeping with my blog, it illustrates that there’s a positive outcome to grief… life-giving sunshine!

A spot of sunshine,

A little pin-prick

On the horizon,

You’ll see if you’re quick…

A spot of sunshine,

Just breaking through,

Melting the fog

Slowly for you…

A spot of sunshine,

We all need a bit,

To make us smile

To keep our minds fit!

A spot of sunshine

On the colder days

Can lift your mood,

Those life-giving rays.

A spot of sunshine,

On a cold, foggy day

Let’s wrap up warm and smile through

Come what may!

A spot of sunshine,

Let’s celebrate it always,

Let’s be positive and happy,

Let’s embrace seasonal sun days!

  1. Ah, the therapeutic value of the sun! Especially welcome this time of year, just starting to feel a little warmth when out in the sun. You’ve captured the positive feelings that come with the sun really well.

  2. This poem is full of literal and metaphorical sunshine – both of which can be appreciated most I think in the wake of darkness. I’m definitely appreciating the spring sunshine right now! x
