Costa Rica ~ the best ways to relax body and mind
When you’re looking to book your next well-deserved holiday, you should consider Costa Rica!
Because you can do as little or as much as you like…
I’m a very spiritual person, what with being reiki-attuned, a certified crystal healer and with a recent fascination with the moon and astrology. My hunger for ‘deeper’ or ‘other level’ things is growing.
…which is why I was really excited to hear of this palm reading app.
It’s no secret that English is probably the most universal language on this planet. It’s used all over the place, in just about every medium you can imagine, and if something has an alternative language option, you could probably safely bet that English is the non-alternative option. That’s just how it is nowadays, the English language has made its way into all sorts of media, be it movies, cartoons, advertising, music, and despite a lot of things getting translated into other languages, English is still most definitely a language worth knowing. It might not be as exotic as some other languages, like Japanese or Greek, but it is arguably more useful. Regardless of whether you are a business owner, or working for yourself, fluent English language skills are most definitely something that would go nicely on your CV.
As you know, I do love anything connected with gratitude and when a post from Tales from the Motherland popped into my emails, the first words I read were ‘happy’ ‘bloggers’ ‘gratitude’. Funny the words your eyes pick out first.
It was a no-brainer for me to take part. After all, I already list my happy things in my gratitude journal and love the idea of listing 50 things that I’m grateful for in 15 minutes (you can see the instructions below my list).
After months of encouraging our now 8 year old to join in with some school clubs, we found ourselves with an uber-enthuastic daughter on our hands!
Due to after-school childminding because of work commitments, she was limited to what she could do. But come year 3, she wanted to try every club going – gymnastics, dance, science club, cheerleading, music, youth club… which was great but we had to fit homework in somewhere too. How inconvenient!
We didn’t want our weekends taken over with homework.
When she asked if she could do this club and that club, we told her that if it fits around work and homework, no problem (so long as she got in!)
If getting yourself up and started in the morning is something that holds you back from being all that you can be, then fear not as there are ways to combat this. Well, you could drink yourself a nice, hot cup of coffee for starters! Or, you could go for a far healthier and far more fulfilling option – working out. Yes, working out is the best way to get you started in the morning and get your day up and running in the best way possible. And there are some workouts out there that are better suited to mornings than others. To see just a few of them, read on…
We all relish the thought of relaxing in a comfy chair don’t we?
A chair that’s not only comfy but supportive, stylish and hard-wearing and a tub chair ticks all the boxes! They were traditionally designed to keep in warmth by a fireplace. So why break with tradition?
We might not need the warmth in our modern living but don’t let that stop you dreaming of curling up in a tub chair with a cat, a cuppa on a small side table and your favourite book in hand.
But why dream? You could be living the dream and cosying up in this competition from Tub Chairs to win a chair (worth £245). Simply enter by retweeting the status below and following @Tub_Chairs on twitter (and don’t forget to read their terms and conditions.) Competition is open to UK residents and ends on 31st January 2018. You’ve got to be in it to win it!
How do you cosy up in your favourite comfy chair? I’d love to know. Please comment below or tweet me @AllSortsHere. Thanks!

I know, the title has followed that rather generic, “It’s December so we need to focus on next year” formula, but that’s just part of the yearly song we all love singing along to. However, unlike all the other blogs that do the super-generic thing of a) talking about New Year’s resolutions you should keep, b) how to lose weight in January or c) making more money next year, we’re going to focus on the most valuable commodity out there – time.
You can’t get it back once it’s been spent, you can’t grow it, buy it, manufacture it or press pause on it, and that’s what makes it so valuable.
So, without wasting any more of yours, here are the best ways you can use your time more efficiently in 2018:
In 6 months or so we’re going to redecorate and we’re going for a feature wall. So we’re going to have 3 walls in the same colour and one wall in another colour to complement (or contrast – we haven’t decided yet) with the other walls.
I did this in a previous house, before I met hubby and before our daughter came along. By doing simply doing this, I created depth, tone and warmth (despite using a blue tone. Yes, really!).
Now that I’ve seen the range of wall murals from WallSauce… I think our feature wall could contain a slice of the Big Apple! Just imagine chilling out with a view of the Manhattan skyline at morning, noon or night. Or having a famous bridge span adorning an area of your home! Wow! My personal favourite is the New York Cityscape at sunset mural. Those lovely tones would look amazing when the late afternoon sun comes streaming through my windows in summer, and winter too.
Fancy a slice of the Big Apple with a wall mural in your home? Fancy away! Get them here.
While you’re looking, consider how a simple change can really enhance your home. The beauty of a wall mural of course, is that you don’t have to go the whole hog on the whole room. And if you choose a colourful design, you can opt for accessories such as lamps and cushions to pick out the colours in your chosen design. It’s an easy, peasy way to update an area of your home. Your haven.
Which is your favourite design?
What memories have you got of shopping for a car seat or travel system? I’d love to hear them. Please comment below or tweet me @AllSortsHere. Thanks!
