Something glistens…

~

My photography skills, at best, need work,

Yet how much beauty is in this here tree?

It stands tall and solid and focal,

The light dappling through beautifully…

~

The photo was taken mid-Summer,

While warmth was on the breeze,

Before long though, it was Autumn,

The leaves fell to the ground with ease.

~

For how long it’s stood rooted so strong, so tall,

I could guess but do not know,

The fairies that flutter to and fro

Perhaps they’ll share its secret though…

~

I like to think of it as a whispering tree,

Letting the breeze pass its words on,

Lingering in the air, hovering til they fade

To nothing, til they’re gone…

~

The tree will be here to keep watch,

For years and years to come,

Homing the birds, fairies and elves,

Encouraging mischief and fun!

~

So let’s once more see our majestic tree,

Let’s stand firm in complete awe

Wait, something glistens at the foot of the tree…

A fairy going through the door?…

“How to feed your soul” ~ poems (#WonderfulWorldofWriting)

My wonderful world of writing How to feed your soul poems blog #WonderfulWorldofWriting

“How to feed your soul” ~ a poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

How to feed your soul

~

The sound of the waves as they ebb and they flow,

As they foam around your feet;

They dance, majestically, they turn your toes cold

In the early Autumn sun.

~

The coarse sand rubs against my skin,

Slothing off the rough edges,

The wind does the same to my

Fuzzy head.

~

Hayfever season is done and dusted,

Must be a head cold lurking,

It won’t last long, it won’t take hold,

This fresh air’s as good as any medicine.

~

Looking out on the horizon,

There’s sea as far the eye can see,

A big expanse of saltiness

That fills your soul with peace.

~

A beautiful place, rain or shine, wind or snow,

There’s something about a beach,

Coarse of not,

That cleanses, invigorates, rubs away any rough edges.

“Time” ~ poems (#WonderfulWorldofWriting)

My wonderful world of writing poems blog #WonderfulWorldofWriting

Time

~

Here in the garden with time

To myself,

I think of a million and one

Things to do.

~

But my pen is poised on my paper,

I’m in ‘the flow’,

My soul needs to empty itself.

~

A reflector by nature,

I like to observe

My world and its goings-on,

The to-do list will not get done.

~

Time to savour the garden,

Time to create and make sense,

Time to do what

Time won’t usually allow.

~

Time to take a seat,

Time to take a step back,

Time to appreciate life

As the clock ticks on.

~

I do love to write

I do love to read

And refuse to waste too much

Time.

~

I don’t watch TV

I’d rather read or create,

I’d rather focus on

Positivity.

~

Later on tonight I

Will not regret this

Time that I took

To recoup my mind, my thoughts.

~

No doubt it will belate

When I start a new task

And I will do what I should have done now!

Hayfever be gone ~ Ode to being sneezy!

 ode to hayfever and sneezes

This week I’ve been extremely sneezy,

Add to the mix a little bit wheezy.

It’s made me something of a grumpy moo,

Wait… sorry, pass another tissue!

~

Achoo, achoo!  I’m feeling groggy,

Can’t think straight, my head’s all foggy.

I love to be ‘at one’ with nature

And enjoy the weather when it’s a scorcher.

~

But you know what hayfever?  I’ve had enough.

I’m done with groggy, I’m done with ‘rough’.

The windows are shut, no makeup on,

Antihistamines ready, hayfever be gone!

Cancer, jog on! A poem for Race for Life…

 Cancer, jog on!

Word of the Week Cancer jog on poem

In July I will  be running Race for Life.

I’ve achieved alot through the Couch to 5k app.

I’ve come from barely being able to jog for 60 seconds at any one time, to jogging for 30 minutes non-stop…  how good is that?!

For me, it’s very good.  I’m very proud of myself.  I’ve shocked myself and found a new hobby that I love…

(aside from blogging of course!)

Please, please get behind me… re-blog, like, comment, share, share, share ……and share again across all of your social media platforms!  It’s not for me, it’s for everyone who has been touched by cancer.

And let’s face it, that really is everyone.

My justgiving page link is at the bottom of the poem (in the main blog picture above) but here it is again for good measure.

Thank you 🙂

Where is the beginning? A poem on chakra meditation

lotus the theme game chakra meditation

Where is the beginning?

What’s at the beginning?

It all starts at the root,

When we’re not grounded,

Branches can’t develop their shoots.

~

Our branches need feeding

With healthy, wholesome foods,

If not they imbalance

And affect our moods.

~

When we work from the bottom

And end up at the top,

We have spinning wheels, or

‘chakras’ which never stop…

~

Want to feel peaceful and calm?

Meditate daily, don’t be shy,

And your friends they may comment,

Share the love, tell them why…

~

…Why you’re feeling grounded

And rooted, like a tree to the earth.

Why those positive thoughts and good food

Give a sense of self-worth.

~

…Why you’re feeling creative

Bursting with thoughts and ideas,

As they ebb and flow like the water,

Eroding your fears.

~

…Why your ego’s not ‘pumped up’,

You’re calm and ‘together’,

You don’t listen to the bad things,

You don’t need ‘lucky heather’.

~

…Why your breathing’s steady and easy

While your heart pumps fresh air,

Pure and cleansed through your body,

To keep you alert and ‘all there’.

~

…Why you’re feeling expressive

And you’re speaking your mind,

Being open and clear,

It’s the best way, you will find.

~

…Why your sixth sense is open,

It’s your third eye, you see.

Is your perception of reality

With them or with ‘me’?

~

…Why your crown’s like a flower,

Its stem’s like your spine,

A petal for each chakra

Now you’re upright and ‘aligned’.

~

Now you’re beginning to see

What your thoughts can do,

Breathe slowly, be mindful

That it all starts with you.
