Life is a rollercoaster… and how to survive it

After what can only be described as a rollercoaster few months, until January there was barely any no blogging at VirtuallyAllSorts.  Let me make it clear that I’m passionate about blogging; I love everything about it.  But a series of events knocked me sideways.
Life is a rollercoaster and how to survive it family bereavement operation recovery moving house move new school work stress trauma
So, what chaos befell?  Are you ready for this?
  • An unexpected family bereavement
  • Hubby falling fowl to acute appendicitis
  • A house move (and a hubby unable to lift due to aforementioned ‘man flu’… 😉 )
  • Settling our 6 year old into a subsequent new school
  • Oh and day to day life, a birthday party and clearing a house in between!
Utter chaos where something had to give.  And it was blogging. However, I’m now very happy and relieved to back!

Due to these recent events, I’ve got plenty to blog about!  So much in fact, that I’ve decided to run a mini series of ‘The Minimum Stress Practical Guide to… ‘ blog posts.  While I can’t promise a miracle fix, I can offer practical advice to people going through similar events (not all at the same time, as happened to me though, I sincerely hope…!)

Over the coming weeks look out for practical guides on how to survive all of the above…

…starting next week with The Minimum Stress Practical Guide to helping your child through a bereavement.

Have you got any tips on how to deal with unfortunate circumstances while keeping it normal for little ones?

  1. Ouch, what a time you’ve had! As you know, I noticed you had vanished from blogland and I’m happy to have you back. Sorry you’ve had a tough time but it sounds like things are on the up now. I’ll look out for your practical guides. xx

  2. I like the sound of this Carol and it is very you to take your challenging experience and use the lessons you’ve learned to help others. You’ve definitely been missed in blog-land too! Sorry so many difficult things hit at the same time – but it must be nice to come out the other side to tell the tale 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #thetruthabout again too X

    • Aw thanks Sam, that’s lovely of you say. I do think that you have to come out the other side to tell the tale, otherwise you’re on a sticky wicket. I have been ridiculously tired over the past few days though – must be the relief of it all coming out…!

  3. Crikey! That certainly was a challenging time. I think that as long as you can let the less important things slide and focus on what you need to, the rest will still be there when you come back. Just like blogging 🙂 I hope all is well now. Commenting from #thetruthabout and #PoCoLo x

  4. Oh that does sound quite a time, sorry to hear of your unexpected loss. Looking forward to hearing more about your house move and to reading your new series. Welcome back and thank you for linking up to #PoCoLo x
