How To Find Balance With Daily Routine

How to find balance in life with a daily routine

With the general business and busyness of everyday life, it’s so easy to get swept up in the day isn’t it?  But I find that by starting my day off on the right ‘foot’, it gives me a head start in overcoming any stress and negativity that comes my way throughout the day.

By having a daily routine, I have time for me albeit in the early hours before any else is awake.  Yes, I often struggle to get out of bed in the morning due to tiredness but I usually stick to my daily routine which happens to be in the morning (and bits of it are often repeated at night) and I really feel the difference.

How To Find Balance With Daily Routine

So what is my daily routine?

Review ~ Dr Dunner PhytoVitality supplements

I’ve been using Dr Dunner PhytoVitality most days for a few weeks now.  Admittedly, I don’t always remember to take a capsule and so from that alone it’s hard to say whether they make any difference or not.  I’ve also had a couple of curries in that time, both containing turmuric so there hasn’t been much of a ‘control’ element to this review.

What is PhytoVitality?

Review ~ Hypnosis Ninja for hypnosis downloads

Review Hypnosis Ninja Download Sessions

Review ~ Hypnosis Ninja downloads

When I heard of hypnosis downloads by Hypnosis Ninja, I thought it sounded a bit gimmicky because I’ve seen a couple of hypnosis programmes on TV and I’m a bit sceptical.  Despite this though, I wanted to give one of the downloads a go.

Which session to choose?

I chose the chocolate addiction session because I didn’t honestly know what the hypnotherapy entailed or what the effect would be on me.  Being overly partial to chocolate and almost binging on it at times (especially at the weekends), chocolate is something that I often crave and I felt it needed to be more under control.  Due to my fast metabolism, it’s not a problem weight-wise but energy peak and slump-wise, it’s a bit of an issue at times.  So the chocolate session seemed like a good one to experiment with.  There’s a whole myriad of sessions with a broad range of treatments and there appears to be something for almost everyone.  Review Hypnosis Ninja Download Sessions

So what about the session?

Review ~ Aqua Carpatica natural mineral water

Review Of Aqua Carpatica Water

Review ~ Aqua Carpatica natural mineral water

Water.  We can’t survive without it.
Given that I drink a lot of water, I’m a pretty good ambassador for the stuff!  I know about the benefits, and feel them too.
Aqua Carpatica is “The purest natural sparkling mineral water in the world.” according to the marketing material.  Quite a claim and one that may put you off if, like me, you’re not a huge fan of sparkling water and prefer your water still.
In the interests of this review, I tried the sparkling and actually liked it, finishing a whole small bottle to myself!)
That said, I’ve since reverted back to still water.  So, let’s stick to the still for the main purposes of this review.

5 ways to have fun with your cat

5 Ways To Have Fun With Your Cat And Your Wellbeing Whiskas

5 ways to have fun with your cat

Our house is generally a very chilled out house and I honestly believe one reason for that is our cat.

She’s such a snuggly cat who loves to sit on your lap and when you walk through the door after a busy day, she’s usually there waiting to rub against your legs, purring away.

And when you finally sit down at night, she’s jumping up to curl on your lap.

(or our daughter’s car seat, as this photo shows!)

5 Ways To Have Fun With Your Cat And Your Wellbeing Whiskas

And that’s lovely because it means I can’t get up to ‘just quickly’ do that thing!  I can only give a head scratch and indulge in the dulcet tones of her purring contentedly.

Three years after getting our cat, I struggle to remember what it was like without her around.  But what I’m sure of is that she helps bring so much calm to our house.  Animals feel stress too.  Usually off us and that’s why having fun with your cat is just as important as them having the right cat or kitten food to replace all that energy.  Good food and good fun are an integral part of their wellbeing.

And our cat certainly knows how to have fun!

Here are 5 ways we have fun with our cat (helped along very well by some fab cat toys by the Natural Pet Toy Company):

  1. We use something long and light to dangle in front her eyes, bringing it quickly out of her reach when she moves towards it.  Our 7 year old loves playing this game with her.  A ribbon or shoe lace work as well as anything.  Chances are, they’ll jump up to chase it around.  It’s great exercise for them, and fun to watch.  You can turn it into a kind of ‘dance off’!
  2. Roll something along the floor and we watch her go after it!  We often hide a treat inside to make it even more fun for her.
  3. Give her a good scratch and belly rub.  It’s so much fun when our cat ‘leans’ in for more rubs and scratches.  It’s like a tickle-fest!
  4. Using the same toy as the ‘dangle game’, we drag it along the floor in front of her, pulling it away from her.  She loves to chase it and tries to grab it with her paws!
  5. And when we’ve all had plenty of fun and games, we settle down for a chill on a comfy chair, encouraging her onto whichever lap she chooses (usually the 7 year olds actually – they’ve got a special bond!).  We watch some TV or just chill out and chat or listen to music.  Or maybe do some reading while she cat naps.  I’ve been known to join her for a cheeky cat nap too…!  It’s just as much fun and just as important to chill out together this way.  Though I don’t think I’d fit in the home-made cat ‘house/bed’ that our daughter made for her (below)…

If you’re still stuck for ideas, here are some other extracurricular activities to consider…

How do you have fun with your cat?  I’d love to hear!  Please comment below or tweet me @AllSortsHere .

Thanks.

Review ~ choconchoc handmade chocolates

Choconchoc Arm Candy Handmade Belgian Chocolate

Review ~ choconchoc handmade chocolates

First of all, how cute is this bag?
Choconchoc Arm Candy Handmade Belgian Chocolate
Second of all, yes, I did devour it all. by. myself.  (And what of it?!)
Of all the chocolate, Belgian has possibly got the best reputation.  And as a lover of all things chocolate, I can tell you that quality is definitely best.
Predictably in this handbag, the chocolate was as it should be: velvety and totally more-ish.  The detail on the bag was amazing and I was very impressed that all the products are handmade.  Now that is amazing!

A little story…

I love the little story of choconchoc: that it was started by a father and daughter in Somerset and that their first product of noughts and crosses is still stocked and is now called ‘Love and Kisses’.
I love the idea of turning a chocolate bar into a handbag.  It’s cute, it’s quirkey and it’s the perfect gift idea!  The patented layering of chocolate is an absolute chocolate dream too… allll that chocolate!
As for the chocolate handbag, it’s about the size of your average ‘larger’ bar.  You know, the ones perhaps meant for sharing but which you totally don’t share?!  I wasn’t sure about the colour of the chocolate and thought it might make it taste a little cheap and ‘stale’ but I was pleasantly surprised that there was no after taste and that it did, indeed, taste just like a good chocolate should.

The packaging

It was really well packaged, protected in a good wad of big bubble wrap and the chocolate bag itself was held in place securely by a transparent box which slotted nicely around the ‘bag’ and its cardboard surround.  A sweet little touch was the ribbon ‘handle’ of the box.  It’s the little touches that go a long way, isn’t it?
I’d order from choconchoc because quality always wins!

Worth the money?

The RRP of this handbag is £12 and given the work that must go into it, the quality of the chocolate and the concept of the whole product, that’s about right for a gift in my opinion.

If I could change anything…

 It would be my willpower!

What to make the family for dinner? Try this idea with #HealthyRedMeat

easy family dinner idea

What to make the family for dinner? Try this idea…

Each and every week, I try to vary the meals that we have as a family.  I even do meal plans which are usually governed by… what days our 7 year old has school dinners (and what she has), what friends are coming round for tea, what do they like, what have we got in the freezer?  Oh yes, the freezer saves the day many a time!

And of course, I try very hard to balance out freshly cooked with frozen.  But what I really love is when you find a meal that the family loves, will even ask for (yes, really!) is quick and easy and tastes just as good prepared ahead or cooked fresh …  our family favourite is…

Review ~ personalised photo gifts from Bags of Love

Review Mobile Phone Sports Arm Band From The Caro_e_ Range Hunkemoller Mobile Phone Holder

Review ~ personalised photo gifts from Bags of Love

There’s a picture on my hard drive which I took myself.  It’s not perfect and it’s not going to win any awards.  But that doesn’t matter.  What matters is that it holds memories.
It’s a picture that was taken of the sunset on holiday last year.  The colours came out beautifully and it makes me smile.  I told hubby that it’d look great on a canvas.
So I was really happy when Bags of Love got in touch and offered me one of their products to review.  They’re a personalised photo gift company and when I saw that they do canvases, I knew exactly what to choose, although I could have chosen from personalised clothing, kitchenware, homeware, luggage…
Anything you can think of that can be personalised and I reckon it’ll be on their website!
The design process is very simple.  You upload your picture, alter any dimensions, then you preview and you’re good to go.  I chose a 50 x 40.

And here it is…

Review Of Personalised Photo Gifts From Bags Of Love Canvas

The packaging

The canvas was securely packaged and easy to hang (the screws are included).

Worth the money?

I can only speak for the RRP of the canvas of my size which was £60 including p&p.  It’s very good value and excellent quality.

If I could change anything…

I don’t think I would.  The website was easy to navigate, the order process was straight-forward and you get a reminder email if you haven’t completed your order.  Nothing not to like here really!
