Prisoners ~ poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

prisoners blog linky poem #WonderfulWorldofWriting

How often I’ve spent time with you

Is really quite shocking;

How often you’ve kept me company

Is really quite reassuring

When I’ve needed answers

You’ve always been there;

When I’ve needed a friend

You’ve always been here

But not everyone trusts you,

It’s a sad fact but it’s true;

But what about me?

I admit at times I haven’t, too

Yet here I am with you

Right here, right now;

Yet again I am sucked in

You have a knack, somehow

You are the one that’s entangled

Many lives in their wake;

You are the World Wide Web,

Oh, how many prisoners you take!…

  1. Love this poem – I read it with a sense of anticipation waiting to see what had taken you prisoner. That World Wide Web certainly does manage to ensnare us all doesn’t it!

  2. We’ve had a Webby week this week, haven’t we? The line about trust – that’s important. The web is a great thing, but sometimes we trust it too much to look after our data and online personas and it fails. X
