5 ways to be more healthy and stay that way

So, have you got a plan to improve your fitness?

Maybe you’ve joined a gym?

Perhaps you’ve got kitted out for running or swimming?

If you have, great!  Good for you!

Or maybe you’ve got yourself a yoga mat or a meditation app.

A step in the right direction…

All of the above exercises and activities improve our mental health as well as our physical health, of course.  Those wonderful endorphins that are released in exercise… ooh yeah, give me some of those!

And it sounds pretty obvious that a consistent approach is best and that it gives you the best chance of success.  Taking up and continuing with exercise or a beneficial activity is a bit of a mind-game.  Particularly in the early days, getting into your exercise kit is half the battle. We know we’re going to feel great during and after exercise but resisting the sofa, TV and treats can be a huge battle.

As I’ve already touched on, once those addictive endorphins start pumping, it’s like a good habit and you just want to keep going back for more.

5 ways stones pin 1 be more healthy and stay that way wellbeing exercise goals plans fitness mental health physical virtually all sorts swimming gym running yoga meditation

To help you on your way, here are 5 ways you increase your chances of success to be more healthy… and stay that way (be it physical or mental, or both!):

  1. Why wait until new year?  If you’ve decided to take action, do it!  Right now!  Seize the day…
  2. Do the exercise or activity at the same time or times each day/week.  Pretty quickly, you’ll see a habit forming.  A good habit! I’m no psychologist but why would you go back to bad habits when good habits make you feel so gooood?…
  3. Accept that you’re going to come across obstacles.  If the exercise is to lose weight, but you fancy a chocolate bar or piece of cake… have it!  And then get back on the plan straight away.  Likewise, if you fancy skipping a session of yoga or meditation, chill our with friends instead (non-toxic ones!), read a book, light some candles, got for a walk to your favourite cafe or have a de-clutter instead.  And then get back on to the plan straight away.
  4. Tell your friends about your plan.  Providing they’re of a positive, non-toxic nature, they’ll support you and encourage you along the way.
  5. Consider that going cold turkey is often the best way.  Years ago (around 6 year to be precise), I experienced issues which led to a suggestion from the doctor to cut out fizzy drinks and caffeine.  I didn’t ‘do’ fizzy and so cut the caffeine.  My several cups a day went to zero cups, just like that.  I’m not saying it was easy to do.  I had a stonking headaches for days but I pushed through.  And I haven’t done do caffeine in drinks since (please don’t take my chocolate away from me!…)  Going cold turkey was the best action to take.  You might say that I was desperate to stop the issues.  I’m not saying they cleared up completely just because of cutting the caffeine but often, going cold turkey is less painful than weaning yourself off.

There you have it then, 5 ways to be more healthy and stay that way!

Have you got a plan?  What will you be doing?  Have you stuck to a plan?  How did you do it?  Did you follow any of the suggestions above?  I’d love to hear from you!  Please comment (below) or tweet me @AllSortsHere.  And come and say hi on social media ~

Thank you 🙂

The beautiful thing about learning is… ~ Positive Thinking

positive thinking law of attraction gratitude vibration focus grateful happy open minded learning positivity

Hello and welcome back.  It’s time for more #PositiveThinking.

~

The beautiful thing about learning is that no-one can take it away from you.

~ BB King

~

I love this quote because I practice being ‘open-minded’ and developing conscious positivity rather than sub-conscious negativity.

We learn from our experiences, after all.

If we have bad or negative experiences or if we are surrounded by negativity, by bad vibes, we learn from this.

We become enveloped in bad vibes.  And it can be difficult to shake those vibes off.

Learning, whether academically or from experiences, is beautiful so…

let’s keep learning positive.

How to reset yourself … relax with #TheZenZing

Welcome back to #TheZenZing, where I help you put the

zing back into your life.

This time I’m going to tell you how you can reset yourself by way of a chakra cleanse.

And look out for a chakra bracelet giveaway this month on my blog!

#TheZenZing energy energising health wellbeing chakra cleanse balance realign meditate visualisation
We are all full of energy – whether good or bad…
~
We each have 7 main ‘openings’ known as chakras.
~
Our chakras should be fully open to allow for the universal life force (the energy) which surrounds us to enter our ‘being’ (our aura) and to allow the energy to flow freely, as it should.
~
When the energy flows freely though our auric layers and into our meridian lines, it keeps our chakras balanced and aligned.
~
Why is it so important to keep our chakras balanced and aligned?
~
Well, you will recall that our chakras should be open to allow the energy to flow through them?
~
If one or more of these chakras is not opened, the energy cannot enter our being and therefore we become out of balance.
~
When we get blockages, the energy cannot flow at ‘ease’ and we can get ‘dis-ease’.
~
You can see now why it is important to look after yourself, to keep your chakras balanced and aligned…
~
Our chakras are coloured as follows:
  • Root – red (base of your spine)
  • Sacral – orange
  • Solar Plexus – yellow (your abdomen area)
  • Heart – green
  • Throat – blue
  • Third Eye – violet (forehead just above and between your brows)
  • Crown – white

~

To cleanse your chakras and ‘reset’ yourself you can do a visualisation exercise ~ sit or lay with your eyes closed, starting at the root, imagine a ball of the relevant chakra colour moving up your body.  All the while be mindful of your breathing.  When you get to your crown chakra, imagine the ball of white light enveloping you in a warm cocoon…
Try it and notice how you feel…
~
Boost your zing and encourage your zen.
It’s all about #TheZenZing 🙂

How to attract more good vibes ~ Positive Thinking

PositiveThinking thought bubble how to attract more good vibes law of attraction positive thinking mental attitude gratitude focus vibration

Hello and welcome back.  It’s time for more Positive Thinking.

Regular readers will know how much emphasis I put on the power of positive thinking.

Positive thinking benefits your mental health and can also attract more ‘goodness’ to your life.

For this month’s Positive Thinking, I’m focussing on how gratitude can be amplified in a simple way.

How?

Since I started my daily gratitude journal, I go through my days and now find myself making a mental note of something that I could write down in my journal for later.  BUT something I never do is note it down at the time.

The way I see it, making that mental note is a part of the gratitude process:

  • By using your memory, you savour a moment more than you normally would – be it a random act of kindness, a smile, good news,  good hair day, simply being with someone.
  • By focussing on that moment, you are living in the present, you are just ‘being’, and therefore it’s a type of mindfuless…
  • You are setting a positive ‘trigger’ to enable yourself to remember the moment later on when you write your gratitude journal
  • You are ultimately raising your vibration and therefore attracting more of the ‘good’ life to you, enabling you to remain positive

So, what positive, happy thoughts are you going to have today?

I’d love to hear from you. Tweet me @AllSortsHere using the hashtag #PositiveThinking.

Bring on the can … relax with #TheZenZing

Welcome back to #TheZenZing, where I help you put the

zing back into your life.

This time I’m going to tell you how ‘you can’ motivate yourself (and those around you).

#TheZenZing focus motivation goals positive thinking positivity achieve mental health wellbeing you can i can
I recently blogged about being mighty and how you should let the word ‘can’t’ wash over you.
~
Self-doubt can be an uphill struggle and can be ingrained into your subconscious from an early age, preventing you from at least trying to achieve your goals.
~
I once heard Richard McCann speak about how ‘you can’ (or rather ‘iCan’) and he was beyond inspiring.
~
Now think on this:
How much more difficult is it to get out of bed and approach a task with a ‘can’t do’ attitude?
~
It’s so much easier to be focussed and approach a task with a ‘can-do’ attitude…
Try it for yourself.
~
The next time you have something to do which you perhaps don’t want to do, are dreading, or that someone else has sewn the seed of doubt by saying you ‘can’t’ do.. defy the ‘can’t’ and bring on the ‘can’!
~
Boost your zing and encourage your zen.
Because ‘you can’!
It’s all about #TheZenZing 🙂
~
How have you overcome a ‘can’t do’ attitude?  And how do you maintain a ‘can do’ attitude?  What have you achieved with this attitude?  I’d love to hear from you.  Please comment (below) or tweet me @AllSortsHere and use the #TheZenZing hashtag.
Thank you 🙂

Fear ~ sometimes things are not all they seem…

Sometimes, things are not all they seem…

Fear focussed energy amplifies results vibrations positive thoughts edit 4

People often put on a ‘brave face’ when it comes to fear and while we should deal with our fears, a ‘brave face’ is a good philosophy to have.

After all, we are what we think and therefore the people around us become influenced by how we feel and by our thoughts.

Behaviour breeds behaviour, thoughts breed thoughts, fear breeds fear.

Vibrations feed off vibrations – just as positivity breeds positivity – if you open yourself up to it.  It’s easier to open yourself up to being negative than it is to being positive.  You’re more vulnerable around negativity.

I like to turn a negative into a positive on my blog and in my life in general.  So, I have turned ‘fear’ into a positive 🙂

~

How do you turn a negative into a positive?

Yoga ~ How to Right The Writing With Morning Yoga

How To Right The Writing With Morning Yoga For Your Wellbeing Balance And Zen

Yoga ~ How to right the writing with morning yoga

Yoga is a great way to give you more focus.  I know this because I’ve recently worked some morning yoga into my daily routine and as a result I’ve been righting the writing because I’ve got more focus.

How To Right The Writing With Morning Yoga For Your Wellbeing Balance And Zen

By setting my alarm ‘just’ half an hour earlier (just?!?), I am finding that I’ve got the time to do 10 minutes yoga and have a nice cup of hot lemon water to put the energy back in my life.

The benefits of this morning yoga are many

I feel more alert, more energised and more ‘with it’ of a morning and therefore the rest of the day.

I’ve got more time in the evening to do things like writing, blogging and housey/family stuff too because I’ve already done my zen-thing for the day!

As a result, I can truly focus on some writing without quite so much clock-watching.

I’ve got Vicky at HonestMum to thank for getting me back into yoga after her inspiring post.

And I’ve been pinning different routines to give me some yogi variety too 🙂

As for my writing… well, it seems to give me more focus which brings with it more productivity and more ideas!  That’s a win-win for me finding my inner peace.

~

Do you do anything to energise yourself everyday?  Do you find it helps with your writing practice?
