Here’s a past-time for all seasons

Have you ever thought that you need to have a perfect blue sky dotted with clouds in order to cloud watch?

Well think again…

It’s a past-time for all seasons!

Take this picture that I shared on instagram.  Though there’s not much blue sky, isn’t it beautifully atmospheric and zen-like? (if I say so myself!!)

past time for all seasons cloud watching meditation clouds relaxing wellbeing relaxation

Granted, I’m not suggesting that you lay on your back on some sodden, cold grass and cloud watch, but just stop a moment.

Be in the moment.

Take in the clouds as they swirl by… Follow that swirl as it changes form…

Although you haven’t got your eyes closed, it’s a great way to slow down and it actually might just be a form of meditation.

So, my message to you is ‘do yourself a favour’ and gaze up at the sky; lose yourself in those swirly wirly clouds; relax and be grateful 🙂

Why not make it a habit?

And when you do it, let me know how you got on!

Do you like cloud watching?  What else do you like to do that relaxes you and is a great past-time to adopt?   I’d love to hear from you!  Please comment (below) or tweet me @AllSortsHere.  And come and say hi on social media ~

Thank you 🙂

Flower garden poem it's none of these making outdoors sunshine imagination insect haven parenting free play nature

In our garden is a wall and a tree,

And right at the bottom, what will you see?

A teddy bear with a picnic, a fairy, a gnome?

It’s none of these, it’s a right Royal home!

~

A home for a princess, a queen or a king?

With turrets, a staircase, a drawbridge thing?

A wicked witch, hair black as a raven?

It’s none of these, it’s an insect haven!

~

What’s it built with, this haven of theirs?

Gingerbread for the roof? Sweets for the stairs?

Soil from the garden? And sap from the trees?

None of these; it’s built with twigs and leaves!

We got down to nature in our own back yard,

She led the way, balancing leaves so hard,

We foraged for stones, for twigs, a snail’s shell,

We made a house of memories ‘n the ants liked it as well!

The story behind the poem: After what can only be described as a dismal few days for weather here in the UK, the clouds parted and we built an insect hotel!  We had made a ‘flower garden’ previously and it was just beautiful to see our little girl (6) using her imagination to make a shelter for the insects 🙂

Lean Greens review and giveaway

Welcome to my Lean Greens review and giveaway!

(with discount code too!)

1 Lean Greens giveaway wellbeing well-being nature natural shake drink healthy food supplement 2

As a busy working Mum with a 6 year old, a husband, 2 cats, a house and a blog to keep ticking over, my well-being is of paramount importance.

After all, if I’m feeling under the weather, I feel sluggish and  lack energy and that’s not a good thing to throw into the mix!

Despite all the energy products on the market, I endeavour to stay natural when it comes to my food and drink… we are what eat, everyone knows that.

Although I regularly practice yoga, do reiki self-treatments, meditate and steer clear of coffee, I was intrigued about ‘Lean Greens’ food supplements.

Their website states:

When being healthy just doesn’t fit with your crazy, busy life, Leans Greens gives you access to better health without the hassle.

And so… Interested to see how my energy levels would be affected, I took up the opportunity to review this plant-based powder-to-shake drink.

Dubious about the taste and texture, I was pleasantly surprised and the little gadget inside stopped the powder clumping, giving it a smooth texture.

2 Lean Greens giveaway wellbeing well-being nature natural shake drink healthy food supplement 2The verdict? A daily ‘shake’ of this for 2 weeks and yes, I do feel different.

I’m less bloated and therefore less sluggish and therefore my energy levels ave been affected.. definitely for the better.

I don’t have ‘troughs’ and instead I maintain a more steady balance in my energy levels.

A big improvement for me is that I don’t get nearly so many sugar cravings, which is definitely a result because I’m partial to the odd sugary snack…

It’s great to know that my body has reacted positively to this drink and it feels like I’ve got back to nature and am in harmony again.

And that’s a great feeling 🙂

You can find Lean Greens on Twitter and Facebook and also take a lot at their website.

Getting down with nature

~

The soil under my fingers

Is a sign of fun;

I dug around in the mud

And unearthed a worm!

~

He’s a friendly little fella,

With his long body he wriggles around;

Not sure what he thinks to this tub though,

No soft furnishings to be found!

~

But does he think? Is he a she?

If we know, I’m not sure how!

With soil and mulch to feast on,

These are his home comforts for now.

~

Back to the earth little wormy,

It’s been good to explore your home;

You’re not like my dolls or My Little Ponies,

No clothes to change, no hair to comb!

~

I like to explore in the garden,

Get grubby and dig around;

Yes there’s lots to do outside,

And grubby things to be found!

So, what is thunder?

The Prompt Thunder blog

So, what is thunder?

It’s something to ponder
To muse and wonder
Crash, bang, wallop
What is thunder?
~
Is it my banging head?
Time to sleep it off, get me to bed
Like the shrill of a pneumatic drill…
What is thunder?
~
Is it my heart?
Why did we part?
Laying so heavy
What is thunder?
~
Is it my tummy
Needing something yummy?
Time for a snack
What is thunder?
~
Or is it nature’s new dawn
Brewing up a storm?
Invigorating, refreshing
That is thunder…
