How to change your zen to achieve your zing… #TheZenZing

Welcome back to #TheZenZing, where I help you put the

zing back into your life.

This time I ponder how to change your zen to achieve your zing!

#TheZenZing how to change your zen to achieve your zing energising rejuvinate benefits of exercise health wellbeing boost blog linky

In a previous ZenZing I shared how I intended to start running and swimming again.

After I passed my health check with flying colours, I decided not to assume I would remain physically healthy.

I decided that I needed some cardio to get my blood pumping.

My yoga, reiki and meditation help to keep me balanced mentally but I also needed to get moving.

I completed the Couch 2 5 k a couple of years ago (you can read my poem ‘Cancer, jog on!’ here.)

So, I thought it wouldn’t take a huge amount of effort to get my fitness back.

And did it?

Well, I don’t know!

I never started the running again.  Instead, our little girl has been swimming at her school and has been asking to go swimming at the weekends.  So we’ve been a couple of times and although I’m not doing hardcore swimming, I’m still getting some exercise.  It look like she’s getting very close to swimming unaided so it’ll be lovely to be able to do a width or 2 with her, moving on to lengths soon enough afterwards perhaps.

So, although my running’s been a non-starter (so far), swimming has taken its place!

And I’m okay with that because any exercise is better than none at all…

because it’s all about #TheZenZing 🙂

Have your exercise plans changed for whatever reason?  How did you adapt your plans to keep exercise on your radar?  I’d love to hear from you.  Please comment (below) or tweet me @AllSortsHere and use the #TheZenZing hashtag.

The Truth About My Blog

The Truth About My Blog blogging writing commenting reiki crystal course healing ebooks
I’ve just given myself a whole 2 weeks away from my blog and off hardcore blogging (apart from an ickle bit of occasional commenting).  And I feel gooood!  Truth be told, (naively perhaps) I didn’t realise just how much it had taken out of me.  I love blogging and all that it brings; writing content, tweaking photos, taking part in linkys, reading, commenting, sharing…  but I was in desperate need of getting away from it all.  And I did.  I had little break away with my amazing family, got hooked on Downton Abbey (I’m up to season 3… no spoilers please!!)  and realised by watching that how very different a world without technology would be.  But this post isn’t going to be a debate about whether we can without technology (I’m a blogger for goodness’ sake!).  No, this post is just me thinking out loud about how much I get out of blogging and how much I should be putting into it.  The truth is (as all bloggers know!), it can be addictive and one quick post can take a whole night to re-tweak…  which, to be perfectly honest, can be frustrating when you’ve still got ‘housey’ things to do.
~
Our little girl is just about to go into Year 1 and for various reasons, I’m going to a have a chunk of my time taken away from me as a result.  Something’s gotta give, as they say.  And one of those things is not having a jam-packed blogging calendar.  It’s not about organisation.  I couldn’t be more organised if I tried.  It’s about accepting that, realistically, 2 posts at the most will be published a week, not up to 7.
~
I’m streamlining my blog linkys.  They’re not taking over the blogosphere (ahem!) but I really enjoy commiting to them, to setting them up, to promoting them… and so they’re staying!
By making these tweaks, I feel that I’m being ‘me’ again, that I’m being true to myself.  By that, I mean that I can also find time to work on my writing (outside of blogging), practice my reiki, complete my crystal course and complete some ebooks that I’ve got up my sleeve… along with running a house with hubby too of course!
~
I feel better for getting all of that off my chest and now I think a nice cuppa is in order… along with another episode of Downton Abbey 😉  See you on the other side… I hope?
~
What’s your take on all of this?  Are you really comfortable with your blogging or do you feel parts are a time suck and you’re not being ‘you’?

And relax … with reiki ~ #TheZenZing

#TheZenZing relax realign reiki energy healing flow calm chi balance harmony light zen zing

Hello and welcome to another #TheZenZing!  Here I share how you can put the energy back into your life! Last month we looked at meditating with crystals. How did you get on with it?  Did you feel the benefits?  Let me know by tweeting @AllSortsHere.

This month it’s time for some reiki and tomorrow on this very blog I will be hosting a distance reiki session giveaway…  🙂

If you’re new to reiki and are curious as to what ‘it’ is, let me enlighten you.  There is energy all around us.  I’m attuned to reiki 1 , have recently been attuned to reiki 2 and feel the benefits every day from treating myself.

Each person’s experience is different and personal (at least from the feedback I’ve received from family and friends).

Reiki is ‘universal life force’.  It’s the universal energy being transported through the ‘giver’ to the ‘receiver’.

It’s the transformation of this energy into ‘chi’ and as the chi flows through the meridian lines, clearing any blockages in its path, it’s the alignment and the balancing of the chakras.

Reiki will go to where it’s needed.  Reiki is awesome and can be healing too.  It can be practiced in person or (at level 2) by distance with the person’s permission.

Reiki love to you…

It’s #TheZenZing…

I am attuned to Reiki level 2 and I practice meditation and mindfulness, along with yoga and find this holistic approach works for me.  I would always advise anyone to seek advice from a doctor or similar medically qualified professional if you have symptoms that are a concern to you.

I invite you to share your blog posts on anything ‘positive, happy and full of zing’  by linking up each month to #TheZenZing linky.  It will be open from 0600 GMT on the 1st of each month for 2 weeks.   I’ll share each post across my social media and in my monthly newsletter. In the following month’s #TheZenZing post, I will share my favourite post from the previous month’s linky.

So get involved!  Spread #TheZenZing positive vibe 🙂

Stay at-tuned for the next stage of my reiki journey

reiki universal life force wellbeing spiritual journey balance harmony attunement energy
As I write this, I am very excited, eager and grateful.  Because I’m about to embark on the next stage of my reiki journey.  Over the next couple of days I am going to be attuned to reiki 2.  I feel ready.  Very ready and I’m intrigued as to how this is going to enhance my experience of reiki and of those family and friends that I treat.  Being on a continual spiritual journey and being an intuitive and spiritual person, I enjoy meditating with and without crystals and I enjoy receiving reiki treatments.  Both give me balance and harmony.
Reiki is ‘universal life force’ that channels from the giver through to the receiver – the benefits of which I have experienced first-hand, if you’ll excuse the intentional pun!
In a future #TheZenZing post I will share a little about my experience.  So stayed at-tuned 🙂
Have you had any experience of reiki?
How do you maintain harmony and balance in your life?

‘M’ is for Meditation ~ sharing for #AtoZChallenge

As you wander around my blog you will see many clues as to my

outlook on life.

From the bio in my ‘PR Friendly Blogger’ badge (in my sidebar on the right), to the #365daysofhappy linky that I take part in (see blog categories down the bottom right),

…and then to the affiliate links to chakra healing crystals and the therapeutic head massager (again, all in my right sidebar)

…and also to my #TheZenZing blog series which focusses on putting the zing back into your life – specifically the post on meditation (see blog categories down the bottom right).

All of these give a little insight into my approach to life:

positivity, calm, reiki, meditation, affirmation

Not necessarily in that order every time!

I hope that readers will feel the positivity come out of each post and I do try to give all my posts a positive slant…

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it 🙂

Please come again!

‘E’ is for Energy for the #AtoZChallenge

The tingling, the peace, the clear mind, the indescribable ‘zen’.

This is reiki.

I’ve been attuned to reiki 1 for some time and feel the benefits every day from treating myself.

I also treat family and friends.

Each person’s experience is different and personal but always beneficial to them (at least from the feedback I’ve received).

Reiki love to you…
