‘U’ is for Unique for #AtoZChallenge

As a blogger, I take pride in the look and feel of my website.  Of course I do.  When VirtuallyAllSorts moved to self-hosted,

I took even more pride in my work.

When I got this comment on my blog, I knew that I was doing the right thing:

“…your blog looks so very different to others and will look forward to investigating it further…”
~ Kate Davis-Holmes (Kateonthinice.com)

As the strapline suggests, my blog focusses on writing and parenting.  I also focus very much on positivity and just being ‘me’.

I’m unique and so is my blog 🙂

Welcome aboard and thanks for reading…

‘S’ is for Smile for #AtoZChallenge

A smile is such a simple thing, isn’t it?

Have you ever noticed that when you’re in a really bad mood, I mean a ‘the milk’s gone off, my alarm didn’t go off, I needed to wash my hair and the world can go awat!’ bad mood – yes that bad…

Have you ever noticed that when someone’s annoyingly happy and nice, you just want to go ‘grrrr’?!

On the flipside, have you ever noticed that a simple smile can lift your mood?  Even a really bad mood…

Put yourself in a good mood.  Have a laugh at my ‘Smile – give your face workout’ Pinterest board!

Is it someone’s birthday and you don’t know what to do?
Let me write a personal rhyme, especially for you.
Pop it in a card, on a pretty label or a letter,
A bespoke rhyme, what a great idea, sit back, relax… that’s better!

A personal rhyme from you to them,

it’s unique, bespoke and easy.
Get in touch today, waste no more time,
It’s really easy peasy…

‘K’ is for Kudos #AtoZChallenge

Hello and welcome to my take on the #AtoZChallenge.  You can find out why I’m taking part in ‘From Alpha to Zulu and everything in between…’

#AtoZChallenge blog writing a to z april challenge kudos acclaim praise best blogs parenting writing blog

‘K’ is for Kudos for #AtoZChallenge

According to wikipedia, kudos is from Ancient Greek and
means acclaim or praise.
With that in mind, I would like to give kudos to the following blogs.  These are just a handful of the ones that I regularly read and I feel they deserve a bit of a ‘spotlight’ moment 🙂  Read, digest, comment, share the blog love…
  • And Then The Fun Began ~ Sam writes honestly and candidly about everything to do with parenting.  I also love that she runs a linky that focuses on the less rose-tinted aspects of life called ‘The Truth About’…
  • DadBlogUK ~ John Adams writes about all things Stay At Home Dad (though strictly speaking, he’s a Work At Home Dad too).  His background in journalism makes for an informative, non-patronising and also entertaining read.
  • Lets Talk Mommy ~ Jenny continues to inspire me and hold me in total awe with her endless energy for all things blogging.  And I literally mean all things blogging.
  • Mummy Tries ~ Renee regularly posts about changing the cycle of negativity and dysfunctionality.  For me, she rocks because she also has boundless energy and the love for healthy living and her family always shines through in her posts.
  • Teacuptoria ~ The most recent blog that I stumbled upon and now follow regularly, Tor creates fantastic doodles for her blogposts, writes humourous and heartfelt poetry and is very open and honest to boot.
  • Verily Victoria Vocalises ~ Vicky Welton has an amazing following and it’s not difficult to see why.  She runs 2 successful linkys and they must be successful for a reason.  She definitely has my respect on the blogging front.
  • Writing Bubble ~ Maddy’s blog has a lovely feel to it, which is pleasing to the eye and is a joy to read, thanks to her style of writing.
There are many, many more blogs that I regularly dip into but
these ones stuck in my mind…
Kudos indeed 🙂

‘I’ is for Inspiration for #AtoZChallenge

Is Frank a monkey or is he a pig?

One thing’s for sure, he’s very big!

He sits all alone, day after day,

Just dreaming and whiling the time away.

~

He looks happy enough does our Frank, it’s true

Though it’s hard to tell if he’s looking at you.

His big googly eyes look this way and that,

His whiskers are long and he’s rather fat.

~

Sitting in his tank with nothing to do

But observe the scenery at the Water Zoo!

~

Inspired by a cat fish called ‘Frank’ who was resident ‘pet’ at my local Water Zoo for year.  I wonder if he’s still there?  Bet he could dish the dirt on the neighbourhood because his tank was right by the front of the shop onto the main road!

All occasions are catered for, it’s really so much fun!
Weddings, birthdays, to wish ‘good luck’, rhymes for each and every one…
Up my sleeve I have a personal rhyme just itching for a reason,
Ready to be conjured up for every single season…

A personal rhyme from you to them,
it’s unique, bespoke and easy.
