Taking my blog to the next level with my first vlog !

Here I am, reaching out of my comfort zone and taking my blog to the next level with my very first vlog!…

After seeing the recent programme about the rise of the vlogstar, I thought ‘why not?’.  Also the snippets of #vlogstars that I’ve seen kind of gave me inspiration to get myself ‘out there’.

It will be clear to anyone viewing my first vlog that I’ve got a long way to go with editing, polishing off, direction and well general ‘techy bits’ but hey, it’s a start!  And one that I thoroughly enjoyed 🙂  To me, that’s what matters.  So sit back and view my first 2 minutes or so of vlogging.  I’d love to hear your comments (but please be gentle!..) and any advice such as which programmes to use for sprucing up the vlogs will be very gratefully received. You can visit my YouTube channel here. Thanks…

Have you taken the first step into vlogging?  Or are you a seasoned vlogger?  Either way, I would love to hear your best vlogging ‘hack’ in the comments below.  Thanks 🙂

  1. Carol! I love this SO much!! It’s so great to see your face!! <3 Huge respect to you for doing this! I had some videos up but I took them down because of haters! 🙁 I'm trying to pluck up the courage to do some more though, you've really inspired me! 😀 xxx

    • Thanks Charlene. I think you mean you’ve subscribed to me… to little old me?!?! If that’s the case, a super duper mahoosive ‘thank you’ 🙂 Look forward to seeing your vlog next week then 🙂

  2. This is a brave move Carol! I have literally never considered vlogging. For some reason I have it in my head that people might be interested in what I have to say if I write it down but why the heck would they have any interest in me saying anything out loud! I guess that’s maybe part of me being an introvert. I understand what you mean when you say that it takes you out of your comfort zone – it would certainly take me out of mine! I hope it is a rewarding thing for you to do though. X

  3. Okay, well, the bright red lipstick. Looks great on you, would look dreadful on me. I’ve just started taking this vlog thing much more seriously too. My advice; go to Fiverr.com and get a professional intro clip made. Kepe playing with imoive / MovieMaker (whatever it is you use) and be fearless. Good luck! #truthabout

  4. Wow that’s very brave! I don’t think vlogging is for me-I love to write and that’s why I blog, so I don’t think I would get the same enjoyment out of vlogging, but best of luck. #thetruthabout

    • Yes I suppose it IS quite brave but a fun brave! Although I also love to write, I find that sometimes my ideas just flow too quickly for a coherent piece and I think that’s where vlogging comes in for me…

  5. Well done Carol! It is lovely to see your face and hear your voice. I’ve done a little bit, literally one video but not gone any further. A lady has just asked me to do some wig video reviews so I may be starting that soon. Awesome work! xx #thetruthabout
