Time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy blog linky #42 ~ because life’s for the good stuff

It's Time For A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 42 Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Reading Books

Your weekly dose of happiness…

Let’s spread the happiness!

It’s a common phrase isn’t it?…

“Bad things come in 3’s”

or words similar to that!

So, let’s flip it because everyone deserves a little happiness … (you know how I love to spread happiness and turn a negative into a positive with positive thinking !)

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… well, why not?!)

It's Time For A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 42 Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Reading Books

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so in the linky below?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic in the linky below?

If you’re on twitter, why not tweet your happy with #HighlightsofHappy ?

If you’re all 3, why not do all 3??  The linky is below. (To link your insta happy snap, simply click on your insta pic, copy the url and paste into the linky tool!)

(If you join in with my #HighlightsofHappy community on instagram, I post up my favourite snaps every Monday on instagram.)

…so what’s been making ME happy?

For a trip down memory lane and watching Robbie Williams at Knebworth on TV.  I was there for the first night and it was such a good ‘gig’ (I sound cool saying that!)  It’s so night to relive these memorable moments and great to sing along to the tunes I remembered so well!
For being given some paper for our printer.  Not the most exciting thing to receive but very gratefully received nonetheless…
For having a ride out to the a local village to see my niece’s art pieces on display in such pretty, English picture-postcard surroundings.
That our girl has chosen to spend her pocket money on the first Harry Potter book.  I did have reservations because some of the books are quite dark but I think the first one is okay.  And I’m really pleased that she wants to read the books before watching the films – takes after me because I’m currently ploughing (enjoyably I might add) through the Game of Thrones books instead of watching them.

and this…

That I took our girl to vote with me at the local elections.  I could write a whole blog post on why I think it’s important that she (as a ‘she’) gets to see the process of democracy.  One day I’d love for her to see the film Suffragette.
For hearing a run-down of our daughter’s day at school – I love the end of day after tea because it tends to be a time to catch up and our girl told me all about how she finished her fractions first, asked for more and finished them first too; got all her spellings right and did a story map using fractions.  Of course, it’s lovely to hear how she’s doing well and trying hard (all we could ever ask of her) but it’s the fact that she tells me in her own words about what she does and how she does it.  It really makes my day and of course makes me so proud.  (see, I haven’t got over my Proud Mumminess from last week!!)
For chilling with candles and my new Moonology book.  Utterly fascinating and very difficult to put down…
And for chocolate 🙂   Because there’s always room for chocolate!

So that’s my happy and my happy word is ‘book’ because I’ve been finding time to read actual books again.  And I love it!  It makes me even happier that our daughter does too…

And how about you?  I’d love to hear about your ‘happy’ in the comments below or tweet me @AllSortsHere using #HighlightsofHappy

Go on, share your happy with me!

Thanks 🙂

  1. Paper for the printer is always something to be grateful for. Nothing worse on a busy day than hitting “print” and it starts to beep at you. A bit like running out of staples really … not earth shattering but terribly inconvenient in that moment in time.

  2. I like the idea of reversing the bad things in 3 thing. I’m noticing that lately I’m more likely to notice 3 signs or pieces of synchronicity – you know, words you hear or phrases or concepts that you haven’t heard in ages & then they’re all around you.
As for gratitude? The type of blue skies that seem so much bluer because they follow grey. The textures of life. #TeamLovinLife

  3. I try really hard to update my gratitude journal but find myself being really repetitive sometimes. I love that you always find so much to be grateful for. Have a lovely weekend x #WotW

  4. My girl has the Harry Potter books as she has had mine, but she’s only read the first two, as they do get darker, so we’re pacing ourselves on them! I took my two to vote, and explained the importance of it on the walk there, it is important. Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  5. I’m always glad to find printer paper because the kids keep using mine to draw on! It’s great to find the time to read, it puts you in a better frame of mind. I must make more time for reading! #wotw

  6. Ahh! How lovely.
That is so good that your girl is reading the Harry Potter book. My teen keeps meaning to start reading them but never quite gets around to them….

  7. All that and chocolates too. We are a “read the book first” family. Two daughters have read the series and were disappointed by the films to some extent. Only so much you can fit in a film. Youngest is ploughing through now. Each time he finishes a book, he watches the film. The art gallery sounds like a real treat. #wotw

  8. Oh yeah for all the reading and books. Harry Potter Is a great read and sure she will love it… I took my son to vote too And he enjoyed running around the voting booth!!! Thankfully I was the only one there at the time!! Calling from #happysays

  9. How lovely that your daughter likes to tell you all about her school day. I hear so little from Jessica about what she does at school (although watching her play schools with her toys gives me a little more information!) Hope your daughter enjoys reading Harry Potter 🙂 #WotW
