Time for a dose of happiness in #HighlightsofHappy blog linky #51 ~ because life’s for the good stuff

It's Time for A Dose Of Happiness In #HighlightsofHappy 51 |Blog Linky Because Life's For The Good Stuff Memories

Your weekly dose of happiness…

Let’s spread the happiness!

It’s a common phrase isn’t it?…

“Bad things come in 3’s”

or words similar to that!

So, let’s flip it because everyone deserves a little happiness … (you know how I love to spread happiness and turn a negative into a positive with positive thinking !)

Let’s spread that happiness and find 3 things to be grateful for (or even more… well, why not?!)

In my weekly feature, I look back over my gratitude journal because that’s the great thing about gratitude and using my gratitude journal – it gives me the opportunity to look back and be grateful all over again 🙂  And that’s what I do here, in my weekly feature, I look back and on my #HighlightsofHappy.

I round it off with one word that sums up my happy…  why not do the same?

If you’re a blogger, why not share your happy post from the last week or so in the linky below?

If you’re on instagram, why not tag your happy snap #HighlightsofHappy and link up your pic in the linky below?

If you’re on twitter, why not tweet your happy with #HighlightsofHappy ?

If you’re all 3, why not do all 3??  The linky is below. (To link your insta happy snap, simply click on your insta pic, copy the url and paste into the linky tool!)

(If you join in with my #HighlightsofHappy community on instagram, I post up my favourite snaps every Monday on instagram.)

…so what’s been making ME happy?

Well it’s a slightly different feel to my happy post this week.  I did hesitate to post at all but then I felt compelled to.
I’ve been given the news that one of my closest friends from secondary school has lost her battle with breast cancer, leaving behind a loving husband and 3 young children.  There is no happiness in that, so why post?
Like I say, I nearly didn’t but then I decided to remember the silly times, the girly times and the downright happy times I had with her.  I can never listen to Bohemiam Rhapsody by Queen without thinking of my dear friend.  We made up alternative words which would sound like just such nonsense to anyone else.  And they were/are.  But we had such a giggle singing it and that’s a great memory to have, isn’t it?
One of a million memories.
It’s a given that when I was told, I hugged our daughter for much longer, hugged hubby and tried to bring myself out of the state of shock.  Though expected, it’s never the news you want to hear.
I’ve had times in my life when a bereavement has knocked me for 6 and then I’ve kicked back at life and thought ‘grab it with both hands’.  And this is one of those times.  Through my daily routine, it’s easy to get bogged down, to go through the motions, to sigh outwardly and under my breath.  To wish the days away to the weekend, the weekends away to our holiday…  to wish time away.  Another reminder then, that life is precious and though it’s unspeakably cruel at times, we must remember the good times, MAKE memories of the good times and be more in the moment.

Out of all of this, my thoughts are to make ‘memories’.

I decided to still do a link up this week because your happy moments are YOUR memory-making moments, your muses and what’s made YOU happy.  Please, go ahead and share your happy with me!

…Just like these people have

I love the yellow splashes in Jodie’s outfit. I always thought that wearing lighter colours reflected back the sun and it never occurred to me about black reflecting back our energy!

Debbish talks about things she’s got to look forward to and also asks if we need to create our own happiness.  Well, I know what I think.  How about you?

This post from Sue at Sizzling Towards Sixty was just what I needed to read – all about sunshine!

Pop over for a read!

  1. Sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to lose anybody, but when it’s people of our age with families, the pain and unfairness of it all does cut deeper. I think looking back on the happy times and being determined to grab life is the way to deal with it x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. I am so sorry about your friend….Cancer sucks! It’s such a cliche but it is nice to remember the good times instead of the awful disease which took her. Thinking of you. Sending love and hugs x

  3. I’m sorry to hear your news. You are right to remember the good times. So easily eclipsed by sad news. Nodding along with your thoughts on not wishing time away. It is far too precious. Savour each moment. Sending hugs. #wotw

  4. I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, looking back on all those happy memories and making the most of the time you have with your own family instead of wishing it away, like we all do, is a great way to honour her. Sending hugs x

  5. To loose someone close to you in emotion & age to cancer must be difficult – I’m so sorry for your loss. But you’re right, it’s about memories and keeping these top of mind, although it must be hard. Time does go by far too quickly, we have to make the most of every moment that we have

  6. So sorry to hear about your friend. You are so right though, at times of loss or sadness, we are reminded to grab life with both hands and live each moment to the full. Thank you for reminding us all to do just that. xx #HappyDaysLinky
